PUBLIC NOTICE – QUALIFYING DATES AND TIMES
The Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration announces qualifying information for local offices to be filled in the 2026 election cycle.
Qualifying for the May 19, 2026 General Primary will be conducted by the Democratic Party and the Republican Party beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, and will end at 12 Noon on Friday, March 6, 2026.
Both the Democratic and Republican Parties will be present in the Gordon County Board of Elections and Registration Office located on the 1st floor of the Gordon County Courthouse (100 S Wall Street, Suite 1, Calhoun, Georgia 30701) during the following dates and times to qualify candidates:
• Monday, March 2 – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, March 3 – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Wednesday, March 4 – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Thursday, March 5 – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Friday, March 6 – 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon
Offices up for Election and Qualifying Fees:
County Commissioner Districts 2 and 4 – $180.00
County Board of Education Posts 1, 3, 5, and 7 – $36.00 (Post 7 is At Large)
