COURT INFORMATION

IF YOU NEED TO FILE ANY DOCUMENTS IN SUPERIOR COURT PERTAINING TO ELECTION DAY AFTER HOURS PLEASE GO TO THE ELECTIONS OFFICE LOCATED ACROSS THE STREET ON THE BOTTOM FLOOR AT 100 WALL ST., CALHOUN, GA. 30701 THEY WILL THEN CONTACT SUPERIOR COURT TO COME IN TO ACCEPT YOUR FILINGS.

PURSUANT TO O.C.G.A. 21-2-412 SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE SUZANNE H. SMITH AND SUPERIOR COURT CLERK GRANT WALRAVEN ARE ON CALL PM 11/5/2024 UNTIL 10:00 P.M. …AND SO LONG THEREAFTER AS IT MAY APPEAR THAT THE PROCESS OF SUCH COURT WILL BE NECESSARY FOR ELECTION FILINGS IN SUPERIOR COURT.


VOTER REGISTRATION

The registration cutoff date is OCTOBER 7, 2024.

ABSENTEE BY MAIL

The 1st day to request an absentee ballot is Monday, August 19, 2024
The LAST DAY to submit an application for an Absentee Ballot is Friday, October 25, 2024


EARLY VOTING LOCATION

Gordon County Board of Elections and Registration Office
100 South Wall Street Calhoun, Georgia 30701
(located on the 1st floor of the Gordon County Courthouse)

Week 1:  Tuesday, October 15th - Friday, October 18th (hours:  8:30 am - 5 pm)
Week 2:  Monday, October 21st - Friday, October 25th (hours:  8:30 am - 5 pm)
Week 3:  Monday, October 28th - Friday, November 1st (hours:  8:30 am - 6 pm)

SATURDAY VOTING
October 19th and October 26th 9 AM - 5 PM


Public Notice: Logic and Accuracy Testing for the November 5, 2024 General Election/Special Election

In accordance with Georgia Election Code 21-2-379.25, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the logic and accuracy testing and preparation of the voting and tabulation equipment to be used in the November 5, 2024, General Election/Special Election will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024.  Such preparation and testing will continue from day to day until complete.  

Representatives of political parties and bodies, news media, and the public shall be permitted to observe such testing.  

Said testing and preparation will be conducted at the Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration Office located at the Gordon County Courthouse at 100 S Wall Street, Calhoun, Georgia.

Notice of Early Opening and Counting of Absentee Ballots for the November 5, 2024 General Election

The Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration hereby provides public notice of the Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration intent to begin processing absentee ballots cast in the November 5, 2024 General and Special Election. Pursuant to State Election Board Rule 183-1-14-0.9-.15, the Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration shall open absentee ballots and begin scanning absentee ballots on the following date:

  • November 4, 2025 (Early Processing) at 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM day by day until completion

Scanning will be held in the Gordon County Board of Elections and Voter Registration Office located in the Gordon Count Courthouse at 100 S Wall Street, Calhoun, Georgia. This processing will not include any tallying or tabulation of results; only the opening of envelopes, ballot scanning and adjudication.
