If I show up at the wrong polling place on Election Day can I vote a provisional ballot there, or do I have to go to my own polling place to vote on Election Day?

You can vote a provisional ballot anytime, however if you cast a provisional ballot ‘out of your voting precinct’ on Election Day and it is before 5 p.m. your provisional ballot will not be counted.  If you cast your provisional ballot ‘out of precinct’ after 5 pm. on Election Day then your provisional ballot will be counted.  In this case, only the votes cast for candidates for whom you would have been eligible to vote for in your proper polling location shall be counted.
